WhatsApp’s status updates can now be customised with a background colour and font type of your choice

Facebook recently introduced colourful text status updates on its platform across channels. Today, the company has rolled out the same functionality to WhatsApp as well. Starting today, users will be able to customise their text status by choosing a specific font and background colour.

This appears to be a server-side update for WhatsApp’s all platforms where it’s available, like Android, iOS and even WhatsApp Web. You will find a “pen” button on the “Status” update page inside the app, where you can customise your message. You can even include emojis in these status updates.
